Behavioural

Challenging behaviour is a form of communication. Children’s behaviour can be affected by environmental factors at home (change, sibling relations), and issues at school (motivational issues, fear of failure, skill gaps, friendship). Behaviour is linked to children’s emotional state, their coping skills, social repertoire and communication skills. Behaviour doesn’t occur in isolation.

In identifying triggers and maintaining factors, we can start to work out what purpose the behaviour is serving. Together, we can then build on existing skills and develop tools to help children manage challenging situations in a way that makes them feel good.

I like to work in partnership with parents and schools. I also provide consultation and training.
